The Dreamer

This angel dreamed upon a lake
frozen vast with ice and time
Oblivious to the starry deeps
but those deep within her mind.

Silent wishes flurried about
her forlorn forgotten face
Trembling her bloody lips pronounced
a name of mysterious grace.

Midnight lay upon the snow
spread like a funereal veil
Lit by obscure and ethereal light
her dark vision did not fail.

Night hid her pallid flesh
her visage lost to mortal men
Terrible graces visited upon her
sight of worlds beyond their ken.

Sleep denied the dreamer
the dim stars and blackened skies
Yet gifted dreams blue and bright
to her beauteous occulted eyes.
